Julie Goucher has been a keen genealogist since the late 1980’s, and has a special interest in Italian family history.
She is a founder member and a former vice chair of the Anglo-Italian Family History Society, manages the local history database for the Sussex Family History Group, and is an active member of the Guild of One Name Studies, serving as a Trustee and is their current secretary. She hosts the One-Name study for the surname of Orlando. She is also a founder member and former secretary of the Society for One-Place Studies.
Her publications include contributions to The In-Depth Genealogist, Family Tree Magazine (UK) and Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine.
Julie is the tutor for the Pharos online Course, Introduction to One-Name Studies.
She regularly researches, writes and presents about researching in Europe in addition to surname research.
Julie hosts her own web page and blog and is currently involved in a special memorial project called The In Memory of Quilt
